Frequently Asked Questions

What is equine bodywork?

Balanced equine bodywork is a holistic approach to horse health that combines musculoskeletal alignment, myofascial release, and nervous system regulation to help your horse move without limits.

How is this different from massage?

While massage primarily focuses on soft tissue and relaxation, equine bodywork integrates structural assessments, postural rebalancing, and specific techniques to address the root causes of movement restrictions.

What training does Christa have?

Christa Chapple is a certified Equine Massage Therapist through The School of Equine Massage and Rehabilitation Therapies, specializing in massage therapy, myofascial release, bodywork, breathwork and postural rehabilitation.

Is this veterinary care?

No. Equine bodywork is a complementary therapy that works alongside veterinary and farrier care. It is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment by a licensed veterinarian.

How long is a session?

A typical hands-on session lasts between 60 to 75 minutes. However, please allow for 90 minutes total to include the initial assessment and debrief.

How often should my horse be seen?

For horses in active performance, we recommend sessions every 4 to 6 weeks. For maintenance or retired horses, every 6 to 8 weeks is generally ideal.

What is the cancellation policy?

A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required for any changes. This ensures that we can offer vacated time slots to other clients. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will incure a session fee.

Are there multi-horse discounts?

Yes! We offer reduced rates for multiple horses at the same location: 2 horses at $109 each, 3 horses at $99 each, and 4 or more horses at $89 each.
